Granholm-supervised Corrections fails Michigan once again, and three people died due to it. Patrick Selepak's parole officer repeatedly failed to test him for alcohol use last year and may have incorrectly blocked a possible transfer to North Carolina long before Selepak was accused of murdering three people last month.

A $250 million dollar contract is called fraud by the SEC, and "Republican lawmakers have complained recently about the haste with which the program is being developed and a lack of transparency by the Granholm administration in decision-making on contracts to administer it."

The Freep reports "Gov. Jennifer Granholm says she raised her hand to ask about the auto industry's problems but President George W. Bush never called on her during a question-and-answer session at the National Governors Association meeting in Washington last week. Oh, well, at least he didn't make her go sit in the corner."

WHAA WHAAA WHAA, Governor. We're the only state in the nation not hit by a hurricane that is losing jobs, and you expect the President to acknowledge you at a NGA meeting? Cry me a river. Why don't you show some leadership instead of spending so much time whining and complaining?

More reporting on Granholm's sweet advertising deal given pulled from a legit contract winner and given to political cronies.

The Detroit News reports "What has raised eyebrows in this instance is that, according to legislative spokesmen, Duffey, Petrosky's officials have been contributors to the governor's campaigns. None of the other firms in the finals for the advertising contract, the spokesmen say, were such contributors. The firm's owner is also a friend and former neighbor of the governor."

Are you having trouble paying your energy bills this winter? Well, this one is a real doozy. Granholm appoints her cronies to the Public Services Commission - you know, the people that set energy rates for the state. Rates immediately rise - 29 times - to the tune of ONE BILLION DOLLARS.

She then hires CMS head honcho Howard Edelson to run her campaign - and immediately starts receiving free publicity by appearing in radio commercials in SE Michigan advocating an energy bill assistance program that is not even operated by the state.

Coincidently, DTE Energy and CMS Energy, two of the largest utility corporations in Michigan, donated $44,000 to the Governor's re-election campaign thus far.
